Backend-focused software engineer with close to eight years at SkillNet Solutions, Inc.,
building and supporting production systems for global retail brands—from legacy data
migration to Java/Spring services that keep real stores and storefronts running.
Beyond engineering, I actively share practical knowledge through
PrafullTalks, where I publish articles on enterprise technology,
software engineering, life insights, and social issues. My goal is to make complex
topics simple, practical, and useful for everyone.
I'm a backend-focused software engineer with close to eight years of experience at SkillNet Solutions, Inc., primarily working in the retail domain. Over that time I've supported and built systems for international retail brands — helping them migrate legacy data, keep production systems running, and deliver features reliably under real business deadlines.
My core strength is backend development and application support — writing and maintaining Java/Spring services, working with Oracle databases and SQL, and providing L1/L2/L3 production support: investigating live issues, reading through logs under time pressure, debugging defects, and coordinating fixes to keep critical retail systems running.
I've also taken on work outside my usual stack when a project needed it — including picking up Oracle SOA Suite for a data migration project with no prior hands-on experience, and delivering it on time. Outside of client work, I build and maintain personal engineering projects to keep learning new tools on my own terms.
Alongside my professional work, I actively write practical articles through PrafullTalks, my personal knowledge platform.
I enjoy simplifying enterprise technology, software engineering concepts, productivity, life lessons, and social topics into practical articles that are easy for anyone to understand.

One continuous employer, six retail-brand engagements — spanning data migration, backend development, and production support.
Designed and built a complete admissions and marketing website for a school (Nursery to Class 8) from scratch, self-initiated outside my usual client work. Delivered an animated hero with live counters, About/Principal's message/Team sections, a facilities showcase, a transparent "Today / In Progress / Future Vision" growth story section, an academic journey timeline, a notice board, WhatsApp update integration, a photo/video gallery, testimonials, an FAQ accordion, a spam-protected admission enquiry form, and a contact section with embedded Google Maps — deployed and hosted entirely free on Netlify.
Designed and implemented a data migration solution using Oracle SOA Suite with embedded Java, extracting client data from legacy source databases and generating structured MNT output files as part of an end-to-end migration pipeline. Built custom data transformation logic within SOA composites and automated the fetch-and-generate process, reducing manual effort. Delivered on schedule despite starting with no prior hands-on Oracle SOA experience.
Contributed to a project for Estée Lauder Companies, an American multinational manufacturer of skin care, makeup, fragrance, and hair care products. Worked primarily on transforming legacy data into XML for consumption by the Relate system, alongside backend development, application support, manual testing, and deployment.
Supported a project for Sally Beauty Holdings, an American international specialty retailer operating 4,000+ stores across more than 6,000 beauty products. Focused on application support and manual testing, with additional contributions to backend development tasks.
Contributed to a project for Charlotte Tilbury, a UK-registered cosmetics company. Worked on backend development using Core Java and SQL to support business and data-processing requirements, and handled deployment of a utility JAR file to UAT and Production as part of the release process.
Contributed to a project for Blick Art Materials, one of the oldest and largest U.S. art supply retailers, with 65+ stores and 90,000+ products online and in-store. Worked on backend development with Java and Spring Framework, wrote and optimized SQL queries, and used Postman for API testing and validation.
Contributed to a project for West Marine, a leading U.S. boating supply and fishing retail chain. Worked on backend development using Java and Spring Framework, and wrote and optimized SQL queries to support business operations and data management.
A production-ready automation platform that researches, generates, validates, publishes, and archives SEO-friendly blog content with minimal manual effort.
This project combines AI-assisted content generation, automated validation, Blogger API publishing, OAuth 2.0 authentication, image integration, scheduled GitHub Actions workflows, and automated content archiving into a single end-to-end publishing platform.
Built independently — including debugging real production issues such as OAuth token expiry, third-party API breaking changes, and data-consistency bugs across a multi-service pipeline.
I enjoy simplifying complex technology and sharing practical knowledge. Through PrafullTalks, I publish articles that make enterprise software, life lessons, and social topics easier to understand.
A personal knowledge platform focused on writing high-quality, easy-to-understand articles.
Writing helps me organize ideas, explain difficult concepts, and contribute practical knowledge to a wider audience.
My goal isn't simply to publish articles— it's to create content that helps developers, students, and everyday readers understand technology without unnecessary jargon.
A genuinely sequential pipeline: legacy retail data moves through Oracle SOA Suite and custom transformation logic before it ever reaches a downstream system.
Client data extracted directly from legacy Oracle source databases.
SOA composites with embedded Java drive the extraction and orchestration.
Custom-built transformation logic reshapes data inside the SOA composite.
Business and data-processing rules validate the transformed records.
Structured MNT files are generated as the pipeline's deliverable format.
Output feeds downstream retail systems as part of the migration.
Grouped by where each tool actually shows up in the stack — not a flat tag cloud.
Open to discussions on backend engineering, enterprise applications, automation, technical writing,or collaboration opportunities.
